CAMHS Liaison Team
The CAMHS Liaison team aims to triage and, if appropriate, assess young people under the age of 18 years old in a hospital setting when they have presented in a mental health crisis, with self-harm and/or with suicidal thoughts. CAMHS Liaison take referrals directly from the Royal Derby Hospital, we complete mental health assessments with young people whilst they are in the hospital setting and support with safe discharges.
The CAMHS Liaison team also offer a 7–14-day follow up, following discharge, for the young people who have been assessed within the Royal Derby Hospital and who have a GP within South Derbyshire and Derby City. We accept 7-14 day follow up requests from other CAMHS teams who have assessed a South Derbyshire young person within the hospital setting they cover. Within this community follow up the CAMHS Liaison team will discuss next steps and further support that can be accessed, either within CAMHS or signpost to other appropriate services outside of CAMHS.
When is the Team available?
CAMHS Liaison is open between 8am-11pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
