Celebrate our colleagues through our annual HEARTS awards

The Team Derbyshire Healthcare HEARTS (Honouring Exceptional and Really Terrific Staff) Awards are back and this time we asked you to nominate a Trust colleague, volunteer or team for their fantastic work over the last 12 months.

You can view the finalists for each award category below.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in November. 

 

Finalists

Clinical Team of the Year – For teams that have risen to the challenge of working in frequently changing circumstances whilst delivering compassionate care to patients.

Non-Clinical/ Corporate Team of the Year  For working tirelessly, facing challenging issues and working effectively for the wider benefit of the Trust and patients.

  • IPS (Individual Placement and Support) Work Your Way Service 
  • Business Intelligence Team 

Rising Star – This award celebrates outstanding performance and recognises future potential. This person will be new to the NHS, their team or profession and have made exceptional contributions over the last year.

  • Sifo Dlamini, Making Room for Dignity Team 
  • Anna Attfield, Adult Neurodevelopmental Services 
  • Azeez Aina, Information Management and Technology Team 

Inspirational Leader – Recognising and individual who regularly demonstrates considerate and compassion leadership.  Someone who listens to  their colleagues, makes positive changes and embodies the Team Derbyshire Healthcare culture.

  • Tom Larder, Urgent Assessment and Home Treatment Services (Adults of Working Age) 
  • Ben Keetley, Substance Misuse Team, North Derbyshire 
  • Lynsey Cockerton, Killamarsh and North Chesterfield CMHT (Older Adults) 

Derbyshire Healthcare Lifetime Achievement Award – This award seeks to recognise colleagues who have dedicated their career to the NHS. They will truly reflect the Trust values and will have demonstrated a commitment to providing support and care to both patients and staff.   

  • Kath Butler, Depot and Clozaril Clinic 
  • Alison Fermor, Specialist ADHD Nursing Team  
  • Children’s Community Occupational Therapy Team (Jan Nicholson, Elaine Rickett, Janet Taylor) 

Outstanding Care and Compassion Award – This award is for an individual who regularly goes the extra mile to ensure their service is caring and compassionate and makes a difference to the lives of patients, service users, carers and staff.

  • Louise Ginno, Dementia Rapid Response Team (South) 
  • Janice Moores, Chesterfield CMHT (Older Adults) 
  • Natalie Power, Occupational Therapy Team 

Environment Impact/ Green Award – This award is for a team or individual who demonstrates achievements and progress being made to tackle carbon reduction, implement sustainable practices and improve the health of local communities. 

  • Kelia O’Brien and Ginette Varty, PCMHT (Perinatal) 
  • Kim Peters, Caroline Jones and Tess Martin, Transformation Team   
  • Occupational Therapists working at Cherry Tree Close and the Kedleston Unit   

Continuous Improvement/ Research Excellence Award – This award will go to a team or individual who can demonstrate an outstanding and innovative contribution to research, development and/or Quality Improvement.​​​​​​​

  • Jackie Hughes and Corinne Gale, Neurodevelopmental Integrated Team and Phyllis Leung, Research and Development Team  
  • David Woods and the Structured Psychological Support (SPS) team 
  • Emma Hadfield, Research and Development Team 

Equality and Diversity Award – This award recognises an individual that has made significant contributions in promoting equality and inclusion for patients and communities and for colleagues in the workplace.​​​​​​​

  • Leanne Walker, Living Well Programme Team 
  • Kerby Walker, Perinatal Mental Health Services 

Making a Difference Award  – For making a positive difference to the lives of the people we support each day, by taking initiative without being prompted, demonstrating exceptional reliability and a willingness to help, and embodying our values.​​​​​​​
