Delivering Excellence Awards 2018 LOGO 150dpi.jpgLocal people are being encouraged to recognise the ‘heroes’ who have made a difference to the work of Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust over the past 12 months, through a new category at our annual awards.

As part of the 70th birthday celebrations of the NHS, the Trust – which provides mental health, learning disabilities, eating disorders and substance misuse services across Derbyshire, as well as children’s services in Derby and South Derbyshire – is having a ‘health hero’ category at its Delivering Excellence Awards, to recognise individuals who have made a significant contribution either as service users, carers, governors, volunteers, Trust members or employees. Nominations are welcome from anyone.

The Delivering Excellence Awards are one of the main ways that we recognises individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond the call of duty during the past year. Nominations can be submitted through our website and the deadline for nominations this year is 11 July.

As well as the Health Hero award, the categories include a Compassion in Practice award nominated by service users and carers. This award is given to someone who has made outstanding contributions to patient care and continues to make strides to improve patient experience. Service users and carers are invited to nominate people for this award.

There are also categories where nominations are made by Derbyshire Healthcare staff.

Award nominations must be submitted by 11.59pm on Wednesday 11 July. Nominations need to be supported by an explanation of up to 400 words as to why the nominee deserves to win.

If you would like to nominate someone, there is a simple form to fill in on the awards page on our Trust website. Or you can email your nomination directly to dhcft.awards@nhs.net
