Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to share that a report provided by the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) following a visit in December 2024 has rated the Trust’s acute mental health inpatient units as ‘good’.
This is an improved rating following a number of improvements that have taken place within the services since the previous visits to the Radbourne and Hartington Units in Spring 2024.
The report highlights that patients were positive about the quality of their care and treatment and felt safe on the wards. It was evidenced that patients were involved with the development of their care and risk plans and were able to share their feedback or concerns at regular community meetings.
Mark Powell, Chief Executive at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We take the findings of every CQC inspection report extremely seriously.
“I am very pleased by the outcome of the CQC’s recent inspection of the Radbourne and Hartington Units. The report recognises a real improvement in these services and shows how we have implemented lessons learned from previous inspections.
“Whilst there is still work to do to fully embed these changes and continue our improvements, this is really positive news and reflects the progress made by our teams.
“I would like to thank all Derbyshire Healthcare colleagues and partners for their support and commitment which has led to this improvement.
“We will continue to strive for ongoing improvements and to embed our learning and developments across all of our services.”
The CQC’s inspection report and ratings for all services can be found on the CQC website.
