Face painting, animal handling, balloon art, a mud kitchen, live music, crafts, games, refreshments and food will all be on offer at a summer family fun day at Electric Daisy on Bold Lane, Derby on Sunday 18 August 2024 organised by the NHS.
The event, which runs from 10am until 2pm, will also feature free pizza for the first 200 families through the gates.
And if that’s not enough – there will be a fantastic prize raffle, special guest appearance, sensory experiences, nature activities and help towards parking*
The event is being run by the perinatal mental health service within Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and supported by Connected and Derby’s Family Hubs. Health and wellbeing experts will be available to talk to everyone in attendance about their mental health and offer lots of support and advice for the whole family on the day or to take home. BSL interpreters will be in attendance to offer their support for those who may need it. A specially designed quiet hour will take between 1pm and 2pm to calmly bring the event to a close.
Vikki Ashton Taylor, Deputy Chief Executive at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This year’s summer family fun day should be one of the biggest and most exciting events we’ve ever held in Derby city centre. We would like to encourage anyone needing support to come along to this informal event and talk to our friendly staff. We hope that all the family will enjoy the day and spending time at this unique and natural outdoor setting that can be found in the city centre”.
Funds raised from the day will go to Connected. Connected is an independent, not-for-profit organisation who have been providing local families across Derby with support through pregnancy and early parenthood since 2016.
So why not take your family along and join in the fun and activities. It’s a real family affair too – even well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
Entry to the open day is free and everyone is invited to attend. Electric Daisy can be found on Bold Lane, Derby, DE1 3NT.
* Tickets will be available on the day from Electric Daisy towards parking fees at Parksafe, multi-story car park, Bold Lane - opposite Electric Daisy. Other parking options are available nearby.
