Following the success of the first open recruitment event last month, Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is hosting a bigger event at the SMH Group Stadium in Chesterfield on Saturday 28 October.
More than 100 people – including mental health nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and many other allied health professionals – attended the Derby event, which promoted roles within the Making Room for Dignity dormitory-eradication programme.
As well as promoting Making Room for Dignity jobs in the Trust’s six new and refurbished inpatient facilities, the Chesterfield Open Recruitment Event will showcase opportunities across the whole of Derbyshire Healthcare – and interviews for some roles are being offered on the day.
The Trust provides mental health, learning disabilities, substance misuse and children’s health services across Derbyshire, and runs the East Midlands Gambling Harms Service. Representatives of many of these services will be at the event, providing information to all attendees and offering interviews to qualified staff in some roles.
April Saunders, Workforce Development Lead for the Making Room for Dignity programme, said: “We had a wonderful turnout at our Derby event, welcoming people from all different cultures and for many different roles. This was great news for the Making Room for Dignity programme as we need to expand our workforce to support our patients and aid their recovery in our new healthcare facilities.
“With our Chesterfield event we are expanding our reach and inviting people to come along and find out about job opportunities across the whole of the Trust. Whether you want to work with older adults, with children and young people, in our inpatient units, within the community, or in any of our other services, you will find a warm welcome at the SMH Group Stadium. We will also have our bank team in attendance, for anyone looking for casual and temporary roles.”
Interviews will be available on the day for mental health nurses and allied health professionals including occupational therapists, dieticians, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists. Anyone interested in an interview should bring proof of their qualifications with them.
April added: “Derbyshire Healthcare is a great place to work as we have lots to offer, including professional pathways, support networks and a great set of Trust values which enable us to nurture our team members. No two days are the same here, so whether you’re a seasoned professional looking for a new challenge or just starting out in your career, please come along and meet some of our fabulous team.”
Derbyshire Healthcare’s Chesterfield Open Recruitment Event is on Saturday 28 October between 10am and 3pm in the Spires Restaurant at The Spire, SMH Group Stadium, 1866 Sheffield Road, Whittington Moor, Chesterfield S41 8NZ. Free on-site parking is available.
