Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Jas Khatkar as its new NExT Director.
Chartered Accountant Jas, who lives in Derby, is an experienced management consultant who specialises in
finance transformation and business strategy. A former director with Accenture, Jas has worked multiple industries, including telecoms, utilities and pharmaceuticals.
Jas also advices a number of Sikh community Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and humanitarian charities working for equality and social justice. Jas joined the Trust on 4 April 2022 and has been appointed as NExT Director for the next 12 months.
Derbyshire Healthcare has supported the NExT Director scheme for a number of years. The national scheme, led by NHS England and Improvement, aims to increase the diversity of Board members across the NHS.
Although NExT Directors are not members of the Board, they participate in Board and Committee meetings across the Trust, in addition to a wider range of other activities including service visits.
The Trust’s Chair, Selina Ullah, says:

Jas Khatkar says:
“I am delighted to be offered this opportunity with Derbyshire Healthcare and to be more involved with the leadership of local NHS services. The 12-month programme will give me a unique insight into the role and responsibilities of being a Non-Executive Director in the NHS and I am looking forward to getting involved with the Trust Board and the work of its committees”.
