Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted for NHS Trust of the Year in the HSJ (Health Service Journal) Awards 2022, recognising outstanding contribution to healthcare and earning the opportunity to showcase achievements on a national platform.
The award recognises the work of trusts across the country who have provided excellent patient-centred care through strong engagement between clinicians within and outside of an organisation, as well as acknowledging the many challenges the NHS has faced over the past few years.
"The Trust have maintained a positive culture and, of trusts providing similar services, are one of the best in the country for effective staff engagement, which was recognised in the national NHS staff survey. Derbyshire Healthcare also continue to champion the importance of inclusion for both patients and colleagues."
Carolyn Green, Deputy Chief Executive at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “It is a fantastic achievement for Derbyshire Healthcare to be shortlisted in these prestigious awards. This recognition reflects the dedication of our colleagues, who work extremely hard to deliver such high standards of care to those using our services.
“The Trust prides itself on effective staff engagement, in the knowledge that well engaged and informed staff leads to good patient care and I am delighted that this has been recognised by the HSJ.”
Alastair McLellan, HSJ editor, said: “On behalf of all my colleagues, it gives me great pleasure to congratulate Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust on being shortlisted as a finalist in the category of NHS Trust of the Year. All of the applications represent the ‘very best of the NHS’ and often leave our esteemed panel of judges with an impossible choice!
“Year on year the number of entrants continue to rise which I find so encouraging and is testament to the effect that HSJ Awards can have on improved staff culture and morale.”
More than 1,000 entries have been received for the HSJ Awards 2022, with 219 projects and individuals making it to the final shortlist (from across 162 organisations).
