Derby's services for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities were last inspected in June 2019. The inspection found five areas of significant weakness across the local area, and as a result, a Written Statement of Action (WSOA) was published at the end of 2019. Since then, the partners involved have undertaken significant work with parents, partners and other stakeholders to make improvements.
To evaluate whether sufficient progress has been made in each of the five identified areas, inspectors from Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will be hosting a three day re-visit from Monday 4 October to Wednesday 6 October.
Ofsted and CQC are keen to gain the views of our parents and carers, specifically about the weaknesses identified in the WSOA, as this will help shape their view of the progress of our Local Area.
Please share your feedback through the dedicated parent and carer survey on SmartSurvey. We would encourage as many people as possible to complete this survey.
The survey will be live from midday on Monday 27th September to midday on Friday 1st October.
There is also a letter for parents and carers about the re-visit which contains the link to the survey as well as details of the other ways that you can share your views.
