Therapy Playgroups

Each month we run a number of therapy playgroups for children with developmental difficulties. Children will already have been referred to the Early Years Service for assessment.

Parents can bring their child along, meet other families and practice their therapy programmes informally.

Often children who don’t settle very well at individual therapy sessions take to the groups really well and participate in therapeutic activities much better within the group setting.

Therapists are available to work with each child to offer advice as required.

In addition parents and carers often find the group environment supportive and to share ideas, resources and knowledge.

Sometimes we invite representatives from other services along to tell us about what they can offer. In the past, we have had people from Umbrella, the parent support network, a Special Needs Toy Library, a specialist toy company.

If you think your child may benefit from attending one of the groups, please ask us about them.
